Cute Picture

Here's the little guy fast asleep on the couch.

He's awake here, playing under the sheets!

Enjoy! DominicsDad

Making Cookies

DominicsMom is making the little guy into a regular baker. Sunday, they made Halloween sugar cookies. Dominic declared that he was a master cookie decorator and that he should be in charge of decorating the cookies. So he was placed in his high chair with a batch of cookies, some frosting, and the sprinkles placed in front of him.

I wish I was there. I guess chaos ensued. We have before and after pictures of the results for your enjoyment. DominicsMom also got a little film of the action (which was cut short as a result of the second picture!) I'm going to have to find out how to post the smaller film clips.

Baking Brownies

Dominic and DominicsMom made brownies this last weekend. The little guy was a big help. He put the water and the oil into the bowl. He also helped stir the mix. DominicsMom let him taste the brownie mix, so he oh so carefully placed the tip of his finger into the brownie mix and then took a taste. He decided that he wanted seconds and put his whole finger into the bowl. DominicsMom had to hold him back after that.

Once the mix was into the pan and in the oven, DominicsMom gave him the spoon to lick. In short order he had brownie mix all over himself, there was even chocolate in his eyebrow and on his nose. Once he was done he walked into the living room where DominicsMom had to drag him back to clean him up.

He likes to eat the brownies too!

Bates Nut Farm

The other weekend we went to Bates Nut Farm (not to be confused with Nates Butt Farm...) This was the second year in a row that we had visited. This time we did it with Grandma & Grandpa. Dominic went to the petting zoo, rode a pony (which I waited in line for 30 minutes), went on a hay ride, and picked a pumpkin. Some of the pumpkins were bigger than he was!

Tucked into Bed

Dominic has finally learned the use of a blanket. His first winter, he was too little and he didn't like to use a blanket at night. He would roll around, get tangled, and then scream bloody murder until we untangled him. During the summer it was too warm to use one. Now that it is finally starting to turn a bit cold, he actually has started to want to use a blanket. At night, he will reach for one hanging on the side of his crib and pull it over him. Usually, it will end up under him but on occasion it will make it through the night on top of him.

The last week or so, he has started grabbing the extra blanket we leave on the bed (DominicsMom uses it to support her belly when she sleeps on her side.) He first has me put the blue pillow on the bed for him. He then sits in it, grabs the blue blanket (gotta be the blue blanket...), and then pulls it up to his chin. Really cute! He then lets us read to him until it is time to go to bed. Here are a couple of pictures:

By the way, Nana made the blanket for him, its really soft!

Stickers

Tonight, Dominic found a page of stickers and began peeling them off and sticking them on his toys and books. Then DominicsMom showed him that he could put them on me...then the mayhem started. You can see the results below.

Employee Day

This weekend DominicsDad's work had their annual Employee's Owners Day. It should actually have been entitle DominicsMom's day and Kids Day. They had crafts, rides, a train, and jumpers for the little ones. Dominic really enjoyed the Carousel and he sat in the jumper, even trying to stand up once. He didn't last too long. There were too many bigger kids and he couldn't get to his feet. He did a craft where he squirted some paint on a piece of paper, then they put the paper in a machine that spun it around, making a nice pattern on the paper.

A few weeks ago when I mentioned the weekend to DominicsMom, I only got a non-committal nod from her. Then I mentioned that Trevor Hoffman of the San Diego Padres baseball team would be speaking at the event. All of a sudden it was a mandatory event and the day was planned.

Trevor Hoffman speaks.

In the end, we all had a good time! And the Padres won that evening.
