Some More Pictures...

A few more pictures.....

DominicsMom built a bridge out of Legos for Dominic. He loved it! There were a lot accidents with the trains as the bridge was no extremely sturdy, but he liked that too!

Yep, she is turning into all girl. Here she is excited to get a new outfit...

Eating Popcorn

It's never a good idea to eat in bed, but for some reason we sometimes let the kids eat their snack in our bed. We don't do this a lot, but when we do, there are the usual predictable results...crumbs.

The other night we let Joss and Dominic have popcorn as a treat. For some reason we started to try and get her to say a couple of words, all while eating...

I would say that this video thing is pretty easy. With the help of a video converter (free MediaCoder courtesy of SourceForge and the Open Source community) to transform the very large movie files into something much smaller and more managable, I can upload videos much quicker now.

Bunch o' Pictures

Finally caught up on some of my pictures...Now I have to just finish the rest of them.

Self-portrait of Nana and the kids.

Joss just looks cute here.

Nana and Dominic.

Joss is becoming all girl. Here she's feeding her doll (she used to never look at dolls, but she has been carrying this one around for a week.)

Another cute pic of Joss.

Dominic and his Legos. He now has the Percy & Thomas lego sets and has pointed out to us the couple of sets he is still missing.
"I am Josszilla! Hear me roar!"
CousinJake and Joss contemplate Legos:
Which tastes better, the blue ones or the red ones?

DominicsPapa Frank and Dominic take a nap.

A not-so flattering self-portrait of yours truly at Yakima. It was hot, we had no shade, and I was bored while we waited for the next unit to arrive...

Baby Beluga

DominicsNana gave Dominic the book Baby Beluga and its accompanying music CD by Raffi. Dominic has memorized the lyrics and loves to sing along with the music while reading the book.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,

Swim so wild and you swim so free.

Heaven above, and the sea below,

And a little white whale on the go.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga,

is the water warm? Is your mama home

with you, so happy.

Way down yonder where the dolphins play,

Where they dive and splash all day,

The waves roll in and the waves roll out,

See the water squirting out of your spout.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga,

sing your little song, Sing for all your friends,

we like to hear you.

When it's dark, you're home and fed,

Curl up snug in your water bed.

Moon is shining and the stars are out,

Good night, little whale, goodnight.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga,

with tomorrow's sun, Another day's begun,

you'll soon be waking.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,

Swim so wild and you swim so free.

Heaven above and the sea below,

And a little white whale on the go.

You're just a little white whale on the go.

Lately, he has not listened to it so much, but Jocelyn has taken up the song as her anthem. She loves to play it over, and over, and over again (even Dominic says its too much sometimes...)

When the song is about to end, Joss knows that she has to get up and press the back button to listen to the song again. So she always jumps up just as the song ends, runs over to the cd-player, and starts hitting buttons. She only needs to hit the back button once, but she hasn't quite figured that out, so she presses both the fast forward and the back buttons multiple times, leading to much frustration on her part as her song does not start as she wants! The look on her face is often priceless as she realizes that it is the wrong song and that she has to get up and run back to the cd-player.

Blogger has a new feature, allowing me to upload videos directly to the blog, lets see how it turns out.

SD Wild Animal Park

I'm finally trying to catch up on a bunch of older photos. We met our friends Mike, Shelly, and their two sons at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in early July. It was really hot, but we enjoyed walking through the park.

Enjoy!

Catching Up

My Reserve annual training period is finally over after almost 3 weeks. Yakima Training Center was your typical Army base with lots of good live fire ranges and lots of manuever room. There was also lots of dust to go with the heat. The battalion received some good training and so it was worth the time away from home.

This last weekend we took the kids to the Del Mar racetrack, where we met DominicsPapa Frank and DominicsMama Pat. Both Dominic and Jocelyn had a great time and they both really enjoyed watching the horse races. We spent most of our time in the infield, but DominicsPapa Frank & I took the kids to the paddock (and to allow DominicsMom and Pat to bet on the horses...) to watch the horses parade prior to the race. We then walked down to the rail to watch the race. Both kids were really excited to watch the horses come out of the gates and they both went nuts (particularily Joss) when the horses came around the last bend and into the home stretch. They both definitely felt the noise and excitement of the crowd (and were not intimidated by it) and both of them liked to see the horses running.

Later, Dominic was able to go on a pony ride. Joss decided at the last minute that she didn't want to go and so she watched Dominic. More photos later!
